What has happened to Springfield?

I grew up in Springfield. I went to public School including North Robertson, Cheatham Park, Bransford, Westside, Springfield Middle and Springfield High. Today, there is not way I would allow my kids to go to public school. My wife and I do our best to make the money to send the both to private school. This is a choice that we decided we needed to make. Many other parents are taking their kids out of Springfield and moving them elsewhere.

In other news a young man I know was shot and killed this past weekend. Christopher Nash was gunned down off south main in town. How senseless can these murders become? This is the third murder in Springfield since June. A town that I grew up in is not a safe haven for any family. While it is true that murders happen all over the world, the quiet town of Springfield is now anything but that. What can be done.

No disrespect to any elected official, our town is no longer appealing to many long time residents. The city schools have gone down the toilet and some of the residents do not care about where they live, what their property looks like or how their kids are doing in school. When teachers are forced to teach remedial tasks to some students, other students get held back. How is this fair? When people do not care about littering or junking up their house, then what else might they not care about?

I truly wish people would learn manners and respect. Who are those people that spit their gum out in a parking lot on a hot day. Other people get it on their shoes, and in their vehicles. Do you think it is funny? Most businesses have garbage cans outside or near the door, use them! People take everything for granted and want society to provide for them. What do you deserve? Get some morals, get some pride and actually care about the town you live in…
